Course Description:
Lomi is more than massage. It is a path to the discovery of self. It is a connection with Divine and all that is Sacred. It is love.
The workshop introduces you to the forearm techniques so popular in this massage modality.You will learn and practice using your forearm that will save your wrists and hands.
In addition you will practice one of the ancient dances that is integral in learning lomi. It will assist you in the fluidness and gracefulness so often admired when witnessing a lomi session. This dance provides for much more than you will even be aware at first. You will also learn about the Ha breath and how it provides mana, spiritual energy.
This 5 day intensive includes techniques for the whole body, including forearm, range of motion, compression and stretching.

Objective: To provide a foundation for students to understand the ancient method of Hawaiian massage in order to perform the basic forearm techniques in the prone position.
Gloria Coppola, LMBT is the kumu (teacher) for this training. With almost 25 years in the healing arts and former owner of a massage school, Gloria lived on the island of Kauai for 7 years where she immersed herself in the Hawaiian culture and studied lomilomi. Gloria describes this work as “The Rhythm of the Heart”. Bringing a deep sense of wisdom and knowledge of healing, her classes provide a sacred space for growth and transformation.
